Rally Report 2012
- Winter Dinner Market Bosworth Maria & Steve
This was the first Winter dinner since 1999. There were a few hiccups on the way but nothing major. A very good meal in a lovely hotel, the time flew by with everyone chatting and catching up on each others news. It was so good it is booked again for 2013.
A big thank you to Maria and Steve for all the stress and organization.
- Easter Whetstone Gorse Judith & Royston (Alison & Chris)
Unfortunately Alison & Chris could not run the rally so we took over. It is a site we have visited before and what a good turn out. 16 units for a Bank Holiday weekend. A nice social on the Saturday evening with our own pub quiz, although some of the questions and answers were abit iffy!! The decorated eggs were fantastic an entry from every van, and the children’s colouring was great. Ruth found it so hard to pick a winner that in the end there were two.
A good weekend even if we say so ourselves.
- Norfolk Bank Holiday Jean & Jeff
Well despite the weather and a water logged field what a good weekend. Jean & Jeff had their very own pond right outside their door. The poshest toilet in a shed you have ever seen!! It did manage to stay dry for most of the weekend and we all got to see the sea, some were even brave enough to go onto the blustery beach! A lovely Sunday carvery which we all enjoyed.
Thank you to Jean & Jeff
A return visit to this lovely site with very good views. A nice relaxing weekend.
Thank you to Joanne & Paul
- Wakefield Jubillee Weekend Pam & Russell
What a great weekend. For saying it was their first time as rally marshals, they did a brilliant job. Ok the weather could have been better, again nothing new there, but it did not spoil things. Hot pork pie and mushy peas won us all over. A meal in the pub that we could walk to, our own street party with loads of food to share plus a DF hunt, the weekend had it all.
A big thank you to Pam & Russell
A windy rally. A nice site with lovely views, when the mist lifted! What has happened to our weather this year!!
Thank you to Pat & Alan for returning from France to run the rally.
This rally was cancelled because the farmer double booked us!!
Well done to Judy & Barry for trying
Unfortunately this rally was cancelled due to the bad weather, the grass had not been cut because it was to wet and was waist high or in Jeff’s case shoulder high!! and would not be cut in time for the rally. Dam this British weather it is spoiling our rally season!
Thank you to Jean & Jeff for trying.
Well what can you say, when even the rally marshal’s gets lost going to there own rally!! A lumpy bumpy field but the views were good. A nice meal on the Saturday evening. We even had some good weather. Chester was a lovely city to visit.
Thanks to Maria & Steve
Yet again a good AGM, a favourite location, ok the grass needed cutting!! A lovely pig roast on Saturday evening, with a biology lesson for the children on the pig’s head!! At the AGM we had a change round of committee, we said goodbye to Roy G8CHK as chairman and welcomed Paul G0VEP in his place, Alan G4EPN stood down as ordinary member so we welcomed Ian G1JCC in his place, and Wendy M6WEN came on as secretary. The weather was kind to us for a change.
A big thank you to everyone who helped especially the washer uppers!!
- Rutland Water John & Margaret
Well the weather turned up trumps this weekend, superb, as is often the case at Rutland. A good gathering in the tent on Saturday evening.
Thanks to John & Margaret
- Carsington Water Eddie & Jane
What a change in the weather, lovely on Saturday, cold and miserable on Sunday. Beautiful views over Carsington Water. Plenty to see and do in the area. A nice meal in the pub down the road on Saturday evening.
Thanks to Janet & Eddie.
- Roade Village Hall Judith & Roy
What can we say, our own rally so it was bound to be good!!!! The fish and chip supper was very good, delivered hot and plenty of food. Several get togethers in the hall which we need this time of year.
A new venue for us and a nice one.
